The goal of the Pocket Beagle Registry is to identify beagles that have the genes to contribute successfully to the development of the Pocket Beagle.  The Pocket Beagle Registry recognizes that during the development of a breed it is necessary to allow dogs without certifiable paperwork to be recognized as having the potential to contribute to the Pocket Beagle gene pool.

To qualify for Limited Registration as a Pocket Beagle the dog must meet these criteria.

  1. The dog must be under 12.5″ at the top of the shoulder
  2. The dog must look and act like a beagle.
  3. The dog must NOT have a dwarf leg.

Dogs with these qualifications  may apply for Limited Registration with the Pocket Beagle Registry.

There are three categories for dogs eligible  for Limited Registration.

1. Dogs that are registered in a breed registry that is not recognized by the Pocket Beagle Registry.

2.  Dogs with one parent registered as a beagle in a Pocket Beagle Registry approved registry.

3. Unregistered  dogs that look like Pocket Beagles and can prove beagle ancestry through DNA testing.
